This route offers you a halt in Bourges, in the listed historic centre, and whose cathedral of St. Étienne (St. Stephen), a Gothic masterpiece, is on the World Heritage list twice ; once on its own account and again under the banner of the "Santiago de Compostela Pilgrim Ways in France".
In Burgundy, after La Charité sur Loire you can, if you wish, follow the alternative pilgrim route via Bourges, and come back to the GR®654 in Gargilesse-Dampierre.
