This itinerary, a variant of Le Puy Way, begins beside the Célé river which it follows for a part of its route, stretching almost 120 kms between Figeac and Cahors.
It winds through the Célé valley, crosses the Lot (via the Bouziès suspension bridge), then the Causse de Limogne. In the Lot Valley, you can admire St. Cirq Lapopie, an intact mediaeval village perched on a rocky outcrop high above the river. The picturesque landscape and the village architecture have inspired and featured in the work of many painters and writers.
A veritable witness to History, the Célé valley, whose charms have been created by Nature, conceals treasures such as the many prehistoric vestiges, paintings and engravings found in the caves deep within the limestone cliffs.
Untouched by industry, the valley shelters villages and hamlets, mills and rivers, vines and fields. it therefore provides a peaceful route, ideal for tired city-dwellers in search of peace and quiet.
